A photo-etched accessory set for a kit of the McDonnell F-4C Phantom combat aircraft in 1:48 scale, number FE1486.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Phantom is among the most widespread combat aircraft of the Cold War. The F-4C version was the first that the US Air Force took on; it adopted it from the Navy and modified it for its own duties. The two-seat cockpit, the massive fuselage and the unmistakable silhouette with the dihedral of the outer wing panels and the downward-angled horizontal stabilizers make the Phantom a rewarding subject that in 1:48 scale comes out as a proper piece of a model.
A photo-etched accessory set for a kit of the F-4C aircraft in 1:48 scale. The parts are etched from thin metal sheet and replace the elements that plastic cannot capture finely enough in this scale. The extent of the set and the fitting procedure are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
Cut the parts out of the fret with a sharp blade close to the tab and sand the remnant down so that the part seats without a gap. Bend in a bender or between two blades and do not correct the finished shape again, as metal will not take repeated bending. Glue with super glue applied in a tiny amount; the excess turns white once dry. Degrease the metal before painting and prime it; only onto the primer is the covering shade applied.
The set is meant for more experienced modelers who are building a large combat aircraft and want to give it the detail the kit itself does not offer. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
