This set from Quinta Studio brings a colored cockpit interior printed by 3D technology on decal paper. It is neither a kit nor an airplane model, but a three-dimensional accessory intended for plastic models of the Me 262A in 1:48 scale. It contains the instrument panel, the side consoles, the controls and the seat belts, all printed in color and ready to use. The set is cut for the Dragon kit.
The Messerschmitt Me 262 Schwalbe was a German twin-engine jet fighter from the end of the Second World War and the first aircraft of its kind put into series service anywhere in the world. It was powered by a pair of jet engines slung under the wing. The single-seat A version served as a fighter and as a fighter-bomber, and its performance surpassed the piston fighters of the day.
3D decals combine the relief of three-dimensional parts with the simplicity of a wet decal. Both the painting and the folding of multi-layer colored photo-etch fall away. The part is dipped in lukewarm water for about fifteen seconds and slid off the paper onto the surface. It has no adhesive layer of its own, so the spot has to be coated with gloss varnish, and on shaped areas a drop of super glue will hold it in place. Do not use a decal softener or a setting solution, as they attack the printed resin and ruin the element. We recommend checking the set against the cockpit of your particular kit beforehand.
This is an accessory, not a standalone model. The plastic model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
