A photo-etched set for a Me P1103 model in 1:48 scale is an accessory to a kit you have already bought, not an airplane model. It holds parts of photo-etched sheet that replace and add the details which cannot be created in injected plastic.

An accessory from the Czech maker Brengun, cut for the kit of the Me P1103 rocket fighter in 1:48 scale. The set is not a kit: you get a fret of photo-etched sheet whose parts are used during the build of a model assembled from a separately sold box. The real subject remained at the level of a project and never reached series production; the set therefore serves for working a model up, not for building it from nothing.
Photo-etching is produced by chemically etching thin sheet away, so it can hold a thickness of tenths of a millimeter. That is precisely its point: an instrument panel, stiffeners, small levers or seatbelts always look disproportionately thick in plastic, because a mold needs draft angles and a minimum wall thickness. A photo-etched part gives a correctly thin edge even where it is seen in profile.
Do not break the parts out: lay the fret on a hard smooth surface and cut the tabs with a sharp scalpel or a cutter for photo-etched parts. Make the bends in a bending tool or between two blades, always along the marked score line. A heavier part that will not bend should be annealed briefly over a flame and left to cool; the metal softens and stops springing. Degrease the sheet before gluing, or the paint will not hold. It is glued with super glue applied with a pin in minute drops, and on large areas a slow-setting two-part adhesive can also be used, which gives time to line things up. It is painted exclusively over a primer.
The accessory is supplied unpainted and without a kit. Glue and paints are not included in the package.
