This resin detail set from the Czech maker Aires in 1:48 scale shows the British Rolls-Royce Merlin Mk.22 aircraft engine with faithfully made parts for displaying the powerplant exposed. It is an accessory for a kit meant to be fitted into the engine section, not a standalone airplane model.
The Rolls-Royce Merlin was a British liquid-cooled V12 aircraft engine of the Second World War, one of the best-known aircraft engines of its day. The Mk.22 version was one of the later standards of the series.
Wash the mold release agent off the resin parts, cut off the casting blocks and bond with super glue (cyanoacrylate). The engine comes into its own with the cowling panels removed; fitting it usually calls for reworking the plastic parts. Bring out the plumbing with painting and a wash.
This is a resin accessory for a kit, not an airplane model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
