1:48 Mi-17 is a set of pre-cut masking templates from the Eduard brand for the glazing of the Mi-17 helicopter in 1:48 scale. It is not a kit but an aid for painting a model.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a set of masking templates, not a model and not spare parts. The shapes are cut in advance and follow the frames of the glazing of the Mi-17 helicopter in 1:48 scale exactly. When painting, that does away with the longest job that building a helicopter brings with it: cutting strips out of masking tape by hand and tracing the curves around the windows. On a machine with such broken-up glazing over the cockpit and with a row of windows in the fuselage, masking without templates usually takes more time than the spraying itself.
Degrease the clear part before masking and let it dry through completely. Lift the individual shapes off the carrier sheet with pointed tweezers or a moistened stick and lay them down from the center to the edges, so that no air is left under them. Then press the edges down with a toothpick or the blunt side of a scalpel, because it is along them that the paint most often runs under. Spray in several thin coats; one dense coat gets under the edge of a template far more easily. Take the mask off shortly after the paint has dried, and preferably at a shallow angle, so that the film of varnish does not tear at the edge. Any adhesive left behind comes off with a cotton swab moistened in clean water.
The package holds masking templates only. The model, paints and glue are not included.
