Cut masking templates 1:48 Mi-24A for the glazing and the wheels. The paper mask copies the shape of the parts and leaves no adhesive behind when it is taken off.
Responsibility details are not available.
The templates are cut in advance into yellow masking paper and copy the shapes of the individual panes of the glazing. The modeler transfers them onto the model with tweezers, presses them down and covers the remaining areas with tape or masking fluid. Sets of this kind usually remember the wheel discs as well, so the tiresome cutting of a circle out of tape falls away.
The early Hind has its glazing divided into a large number of flat panes with a dense network of frames. Hand-cut tape will take hours here, and one imprecise edge is enough for the whole canopy to turn out badly. A pre-cut template shortens the preparation to tens of minutes and holds the frames at the same width all the way around.
Wash the clear parts in lukewarm water with a drop of detergent beforehand and let them dry. Press the template down with a wooden toothpick, above all along the edges, so that no paint runs underneath it. Spray in thin layers, as a heavy layer will create a step at the edge. Take the mask off while the varnish is freshly dry, not after several weeks.
The package contains only the masking templates, without paints and without a kit.
Pre-cut masks save the most time on glazing with many frames, where cutting the tape by hand would take up a substantial part of the whole build.
