The set belongs to the line of interior decals printed on decal paper, which combine color with three-dimensional relief. They are applied like an ordinary decal, but the result looks three-dimensional and saves hours of work with a brush. It is not a model but an accessory for a plastic kit.
The Mi-8MT is the Soviet designation of the upgraded Hip with more powerful engines, offered for export as the Mi-17. The same machine therefore carries several names, and different manufacturers box it under different titles. Yet the shape of the interior parts differs from box to box, so the decals are always cut for one particular kit. This set is intended for the model from the AMK brand; for the same type there are separate sets for the kits of other manufacturers. Before buying, then, go by whose box you have at home.
The cabin of the Mi-8 and its derivatives is large, and through the glazing and the open doors you see more of it than on a fighter. At the same time there are a great many instruments, an overhead panel and side consoles, so painting by hand means several evenings with the finest brush. The decals cut this part of the build down to a single sitting, and the result is consistent even where a hand would start to shake.
