This is not a kit but a set of self-adhesive masking stencils intended for plastic models of the two-seat MiG-15UTI trainer in 1:48 scale. The stencils are made of fine Japanese kabuki (washi) tape, accurately pre-cut into individual segments that follow the rounded shapes of the canopy well. In the BASIC version the set covers the cockpit, the other clear parts and the wheels.
The MiG-15UTI (NATO code Midget) is the two-seat trainer version of the legendary MiG-15 jet fighter. It came about by converting the single-seat airframe to a tandem cockpit layout and became one of the most widespread jet trainers of the Eastern bloc. It served for decades with many air forces and remains an icon of the Cold War to this day.
Peel the tape off, lay it on the glazing and work it into the recesses with pressure. We recommend spraying the shade of the frames first (usually the interior color of the cockpit) and only the outer camouflage once that has dried. The masks leave no adhesive residue and can be peeled off easily. An airbrush and a soft transition give the best result.
The model itself, the paints and the glue are not included in the package.
