This is a resin detail cockpit set in 1:48 scale from the Czech maker Aires. It is not an airplane model but an accessory for improving a kit of the MiG-17F jet fighter. The set usually brings a cast cockpit tub, side consoles, an instrument panel and a seat with fine relief that goes beyond what injection-molded plastic can do.
The Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-17 was a Soviet jet fighter of the 1950s, developed from the earlier MiG-15. The MiG-17F version was fitted with an engine with an afterburner, which improved its performance. The aircraft was widespread and dozens of states operated it.
Wash the mold release agent off the parts, separate the casting blocks and bond with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Sand resin with respiratory protection. The set is intended for more experienced modelers who want a detailed cockpit.
This is an accessory for a kit, not a complete model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
