MiG-23 MF/ML Flogger, correct air intakes 1:48 is a resin correction set from the Aires brand for a more accurate intake shape on the Soviet fighter.
Responsibility details are not available.
This set brings resin air intakes with a more accurate shape for the Soviet MiG-23 fighter in the MF and ML versions in 1:48 scale. It is not an aircraft model but a correction accessory, which puts right the more angular or inaccurate intake shape of some kits: it rounds the upper edge of the intake and adds finer detail to the inner ramps and vanes.
The MiG-23 was a Soviet single-engined machine with a variable-sweep wing. Its rectangular side intakes had adjustable ramps, which directed the flow at high speeds. The MF and ML versions were among the widespread forms of this fighter.
First wash the resin castings in lukewarm water with a drop of dish soap, because of the mold release residue. Cut the casting blocks off carefully with a saw or snap them off, and sand the surfaces with respiratory protection. Glue the parts with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Cut the original intake sections away according to the instructions and sand and, if needed, fill the transition into the fuselage carefully, so that it runs smoothly. Shade the inside of the intake in a light color; pick out the fine ramps and vanes so that the detail stands out.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
