Remove before flight covers for the MiG-23ML in 1:48 scale from the Quickboost range: a resin accessory for a faithful rendering of a machine parked on the apron.
Responsibility details are not available.
This accessory set from the Quickboost range of the Czech manufacturer Aires brings cast covers and plugs with remove before flight tags for the Soviet MiG-23ML fighter in 1:48 scale. It is precisely such small things that turn an ordinarily built model into a believable snapshot of airfield life: a parked machine carries protective covers on its sensitive points, and the mechanics take them off before flight.
The MiG-23ML is the lightened and aerodynamically refined variant of this variable-geometry wing fighter, which formed the backbone of the air arms of the Eastern bloc in the 1970s and 1980s. On the ground the probes, the intakes and other sensitive openings of the airframe were routinely protected with covers carrying deep red tags; on period photographs they are impossible to miss, and they give a model an authentic character.
Before working on the castings, wash them in warm soapy water, separate them from the casting blocks with a sharp knife or a fine saw and bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). The tags are as a rule painted red, and a final matte clear coat will even the surface out with the rest of the model. We recommend checking the exact layout of the covers against photographs of the particular machine you are building.
The accessory is supplied unpainted. Glue and paints are not included in the package.
