Photo-etched parts for a model of the Soviet Mi-4A helicopter in 1:48 scale. They replace the plastic parts where plastic is necessarily thicker than the real thing.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Mi-4 is a Soviet utility helicopter of the 1950s that served to carry troops and cargo and spread to a number of countries. The Mi-4A designation distinguishes one of the variants of the machine. In 1:48 scale helicopter models have large glazed areas and a number of thin sheet metal parts, so on them the difference between plastic and photo-etch shows at first glance.
Photo-etched parts for the Mi-4A model in 1:48 scale. It is a thin metal fret from which the individual parts are cut and bent to shape. The manufacturer's instructions give the extent of the parts, their position on the model and the kit the set is shaped for.
Before you start, read the whole instruction sheet and think the order of work through: some of the parts are fitted before the fuselage is closed. Separate the parts from the fret with a sharp blade resting on a hard surface and level the mark left by the tab with a needle file. Make the bends along the marked engraving; a longer part that has to be curved can be pressed and drawn around a cylindrical object, for example around a drill bit of a suitable diameter. Apply cyanoacrylate glue with a needle in minute drops, because its fumes fog clear parts. Before painting, degrease the metal with alcohol and prime it with a paint for metal, otherwise the finish will not survive further handling.
The helicopter kit, paints and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
