The Eduard 1:48 Mitsubishi A6M3 Zero TFace masking set holds pre-cut glazing masks for the outer and the inner side of the cockpit of a model of the Japanese carrier fighter.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of self-adhesive masks from the Czech manufacturer Eduard for a plastic model of the A6M3 Zero carrier fighter in 1:48 scale. The TFace version holds masks for both sides of the glazing, so the frames of the long cockpit canopy can be sprayed from the outside and from the inside. It is not a model nor a part of one, but an aid for painting.
The cockpit of the A6M has a long glazed canopy divided by a great many narrow frames. Cutting them from masking tape by hand means dozens of strips, on which the width and the direction easily drift apart. A pre-cut mask holds the shape of the frame exactly and once it is lifted the edge stays crisp along its whole length. In 1:48 scale the cockpit is one of the most closely watched parts of a model.
First wash and degrease the clear parts, as a mask will not hold on a greasy surface. Move the mask with tweezers, seat it in the pane of glazing and press it down with a soft tool. Mask and spray the inner side with the interior color before you seat the part in the fuselage. Apply the paint in thin coats and take the masks off shortly after it has dried. Glue clear parts with a canopy glue or with white PVA glue; super glue can fog them.
It is an accessory for a plastic model, not a kit. The model itself and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
