It is not a model of an aircraft but an accessory for a model you already have. The manufacturer makes the other variant of the same mine, without a fairing, separately — you choose one of them according to the configuration you want to build.
The Mk 52 is an American naval mine dropped from an aircraft. The fairing on the tail section of the body changes the silhouette of the external store, so the two versions look different on a model and modelers buy them according to the particular configuration they are depicting. From a modeling point of view an external store of this kind behaves like a bomb: it is carried on wing or fuselage racks and tells on the result mainly through the shape of the body and the tail.
Wash the parts in lukewarm soapy water and let them dry thoroughly. Cut the casting blocks off with a fine-toothed saw, level the surface with a file and finish it wet, with respiratory protection. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue, as cement for plastic will not bond resin. Apply a base coat before painting. The fairing at the end of the body has plenty of flat faces and edges, so it pays to spray it with an airbrush and to pick the edges out only at the end; when seating them on the racks, watch that all the pieces hang on the same axis and at the same height.
