The resin Mk.84 bombs with a retarding fin in 1:48 scale from the manufacturer Eduard for faithful stores on a model.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set of the Eduard brand from the resin line brings Mk.84 aircraft bombs in the rendering with a retarding fin, 1:48 scale. It is not a model of an airplane but an accessory for the stores of a finished model of a modern combat machine. The retarding tail unit slows the fall of the bomb down and allows safe dropping from low altitudes. Cast bodies of the bombs, the stabilizers and decals tend to be part of it.
The Mk.84 is an American unguided low-drag aircraft bomb of a weight of around 907 kilograms (2000 pounds), the largest member of the Mk.80 series. The rendering with a retarding fin was used for attacks from low altitudes, where the impact has to be moved away from the dropping aircraft.
Wash the parts clean of the mold release agent, separate them from the casting blocks and glue them together with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Seat the opened-out retarding fin carefully according to the instructions. Lay a smooth gloss base on before the decals.
This is a supplementary set, not a model in its own right. Paints, glue and the base model are not included in the package.
