Quickboost 1:48 modern aircraft mirrors is a resin set of rear-view mirrors for the canopy frame in 1:48 scale. A universal detail accessory, not an aircraft model.
Responsibility details are not available.
A small resin set in 1:48 scale with the rear-view mirrors that on modern combat aircraft are mounted on the frame or the bow of the canopy. The name does not give a particular type of aircraft, so it is a universal accessory usable on several builds. It is not a kit: the mirrors are glued onto a finished model.
A mirror is a typical part on which injection-molded plastic loses: it has to be thin, on a thin stalk and with a flat reflecting face. In a kit it tends to be either thick or missing altogether. A resin casting can be made an order of magnitude finer, and because the part is small, the casting block is the only place that needs working.
Work over a light surface and with tweezers: in this scale the part is on the edge of visibility and a dropped mirror is practically impossible to find. Wash the casting with detergent and separate it from the casting block with a fresh scalpel blade rather than with cutters, as resin shatters when nipped. It is glued with a small drop of cyanoacrylate glue applied with the tip of a toothpick. The reflecting face can be suggested with a glossy silver paint or a piece of self-adhesive metal foil, and the frame is left in the cockpit color. Glue the mirrors on as one of the last steps, once the canopy is in place, as they are easily knocked off while handling the model.
The set is an accessory for a kit, not a standalone model. It is supplied unpainted, and paints and glue are not included in the package.
