Aires 1:48 N1K1 Shiden cockpit set is a resin detail set that replaces the cockpit from the box with a complete, finely rendered interior.
Responsibility details are not available.
This Aires resin detail set in 1:48 scale replaces the simple plastic cockpit of a model of the Kawanishi N1K1 Shiden with a complete, finely rendered interior. It is not an aircraft kit but an accessory that contains a cockpit tub, an instrument panel, side consoles, a control stick and a seat. The set is intended for more experienced modelers who want a faithful view into the cockpit.
The Kawanishi N1K1 Shiden, called George by the Allies, was a land-based interceptor of the Imperial Japanese Navy Air Service. It was powered by the powerful Nakajima Homare radial engine, and thanks to its speed and heavy armament it was one of the few Japanese machines that could match the American F6F Hellcat and F4U Corsair fighters late in the war. It entered service in 1944.
Wash the parts in lukewarm soapy water to remove the mold release agent from the mold. Separate the parts from the casting blocks by cutting, not by snapping, and bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Sand the resin with respiratory protection or wet. Spray the interior with a base coat first, then bring out the instruments and the panels with a wash, a dry brush and, if you like, spot highlights.
It is supplied as an unglued and unpainted resin set. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
