An injection-molded plastic kit of the Japanese carrier torpedo bomber Nakajima B6N2 Tenzan in 1:48 scale from the Japanese manufacturer Hasegawa. The model stands out for its finely engraved surfaces, the glazed canopy for the three-man crew and decals for several color schemes. The name Jill is the Allied reporting code for this type.
The Tenzan was a three-seat carrier attack aircraft of the Imperial Japanese Navy, intended for torpedo attacks as well as for conventional bombing from the decks of aircraft carriers. It replaced the older B5N type and was powered by a capable radial engine. It was committed to the closing battles of the Pacific, among others in the area of the Marianas and at Okinawa, and toward the end of the war often flew from land bases.
Paint and fit the cockpit and the interior before you close up the fuselage; on the glazing it pays to use masking templates and to glue the clear part only after painting. Fit the external load (a torpedo, or bombs) at the end. Bring the dark green upper surfaces to life with graduated shades, paint wear and gentle emphasis on the panel lines with a wash.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
