Metal barrels from Master Model for the Northrop F-5 Tiger II in 1:48 scale. They replace the plastic parts of the kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Northrop F-5 Tiger II is among the most widespread combat aircraft of the second half of the twentieth century. It is a light supersonic machine that won dozens of users with its low purchase price, undemanding maintenance and ability to operate from shorter runways. It flew as a fighter, as an attack aircraft and as a trainer, and in air combat training it serves as an adversary. The single-seat version had two 20 mm cannon in the nose.
Metal barrels that replace the plastic parts of the kit. In 1:48 scale the model is about thirty centimeters long, so the nose reaches a size where every blanked-off opening shows at a glance. Compared with plastic, the metal part has a thinner wall and a sharper muzzle and holds its shape even while the area around it is being sanded.
Cut the plastic part off and true the surface with abrasive paper. Drill a hole of the matching diameter into the seat, test-fit the metal barrel dry first and then glue it in with super glue. Wash and degrease the metal and use a primer before painting. Align the finished part while the glue is still holding only lightly.
For modelers who build the F-5 in 1:48 scale and want metal armament. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
