Ohka MXY7-K1 KAI - vacuum-formed canopy of the two-seat version in 1:48 scale from the Czech maker Brengun. A thin clear canopy over both cockpits of the trainer variant of the Ohka.
Responsibility details are not available.
A vacuum-formed clear canopy from the Czech maker Brengun, intended for a particular Brengun kit. The thin film gives the elongated glazing of the two-seat version finer frames and markedly better transparency than a thicker molded part - on a model where the glazing makes up a substantial part of the fuselage spine, that shows at first glance.
The Yokosuka MXY-7 Ohka was a Japanese rocket aircraft from the end of the Second World War, designed for suicide attacks on ships. The MXY7-K1 KAI variant was a two-seat trainer version with no warhead, intended to train pilots - approaches and landings were practiced in gliding flight onto a landing skid. The longer two-seat canopy is the main external difference from the combat machine.
Cut the part out with sharp scissors leaving a small overlap and sand the edge down on fine abrasive paper laid on a flat surface. Glue with white PVA glue or a special cement for clear parts - the fumes of super glue can fog clear film. Spray the frames through masks, ideally in the interior color first.
This is a replacement clear part, not an airplane model in its own right. Glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
