A pre-painted photo-etched set of seat belts for a model of the OV-10D+ aircraft in 1:48 scale from the Czech maker Eduard. According to the code series this is a smaller, standalone set from the Zoom family, which covers exactly the belts for the seats. It is neither a full photo-etched cockpit set nor a masking set, and it is certainly not an aircraft kit. The parts list is given in the instructions for the set.
The belts show at first glance on a finished model, because the seats are among the most exposed places in an open cockpit. The STEEL version differs from the usual brass fret in its material: steel photo-etch is springier and holds a formed sag better, so the belt reads as cloth rather than as a piece of sheet metal. The parts are pre-painted, so painting the straps and the hardware falls away and the result is even.
Separate the parts with a sharp scalpel on a hard surface, never by twisting. Make the bends over the edge of a bending tool or a razor blade, smoothly and preferably in two goes. Glue with cyanoacrylate applied in the smallest possible amount with a pin, or with a glue made for photo-etched parts; ordinary plastic cement does not hold on metal. Shape the sag of the belt with a round tool such as a brush handle, so that the material does not kink. Keep the pre-painted surfaces away from solvents and apply the final matte clear coat only lightly and in a thin layer.
The set holds photo-etched parts only; it is not a model kit. Glue and paints are not included in the package.
