The right engine of the P-38J Lightning in 1:48 scale is a 3D-printed resin detail set from Eduard for superdetailing the Lockheed P-38 Lightning fighter.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is not an aircraft kit but a detail accessory. The set replaces the right (starboard) engine nacelle of the twin-engine Lockheed P-38 Lightning fighter with a faithful 3D-printed resin replica of the Allison V-1710 V12 engine. The parts are made by direct 3D printing, which allows the cooling fins, the wiring and the engine accessories to be reproduced very finely.
The P-38 Lightning was an American twin-engine, twin-boom fighter with a distinctive central pilot nacelle and two turbocharged Allison engines. The J version had improved cooling and a larger fuel capacity. An exposed engine is one of the most striking details that can be shown on a Lightning model.
First wash the print resin residue off the resin parts, separate them carefully from the print supports and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Use respiratory protection when sanding. The engine block comes to life once the wiring is picked out and a light wash is run into the recesses.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package.
