A set of photo-etched metal parts for the model of the American Curtiss P-40B fighter in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Curtiss P-40 was an American single-engine fighter that joined the fighting of the Second World War in its very first years and served on most fronts. The P-40B version is one of the early forms of the family, and it differs from the later machines in the shape of the nose, in the make-up of the armament and in the division of the canopy frames. The early P-40s are remembered above all for the color schemes with a shark mouth painted around the radiator under the nose.
This is a set of photo-etched metal parts for a model in 1:48 scale. Photo-etch is used where a plastic part would come out disproportionately thick for the scale: on thin sheet covers, grilles, fittings and belt buckles, on levers in the cabin or on the instrument panels. The instructions supplied by the manufacturer give the scope of the sheet and the kit the set is prepared for.
Leave the sheet intact as long as possible and separate the individual parts from it only at the moment you are about to glue them. Cut with a sharp blade against a hard surface, not with pliers, which buckle the thin sheet; then sand the remnant of the tab with a fine file. Make the bend over the edge of a steel ruler or in a bending tool, in one pull and along the whole length at once. Before painting, wash the metal, degrease it and lay down a primer made for metal, or the coat will rub off in handling.
The aircraft kit, paints, glue and tools are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
