A detail set intended to improve the cockpit of the American Curtiss P-40B Warhawk fighter in 1:48 scale. It combines resin parts with photo-etched elements, among them the instrument panel and the seat belts. This is not an airplane kit but an accessory that replaces and supplements the cockpit parts of the base model. The maker is the Aires company.
The Curtiss P-40 Warhawk was among the most widely used American fighters of the early Second World War. The early B versions were marked by a V engine with the characteristic radiator under the nose and served, among others, with a well-known volunteer group on the China-Burma front. On this aircraft the richly divided cockpit is one of the prominent details.
First cut the resin parts off the casting blocks and wash the mold release residue away; glue them with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). The photo-etched instrument panel and the belts can be gently shaped for a realistic look. Expect that the cockpit sidewalls may need thinning so the set seats accurately in the fuselage of your particular kit.
The set is supplied unpainted; paints, glue and the kit are not included in the package.
