A set for the Curtiss P-40E in 1:48 scale: self-adhesive film for the glazing from both sides, a stencil for the national insignia and six brass barrels for the wing machine guns.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Curtiss P-40E came in 1941 as the version with the Allison V-1710-39 engine and above all with the armament moved entirely into the wing. Instead of the older combination of fuselage and wing weapons it was given six .50 caliber Brownings, three in each half of the wing. Machines in this form served from North Africa through the Pacific to the Soviet front and their recognition feature is precisely the row of muzzles in the leading edge.
Six barrels mean six holes that have to lie in one straight line and at the same depth. Few people can drill them into a plastic leading edge so that the row is not uneven, and a single bit that wanders ruins the whole wing. Brass barrels remove this problem: they are only slid into pre-drilled holes and lined up against a ruler.
