This is not a kit but a specialized brass photo-etched set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard for a plastic model of the P-40E fighter (usable for the related P-40K version as well) in 1:48 scale. It serves to replace the simplified plastic flaps with more faithful metal parts.
It lets you assemble the landing flaps in the lowered position and reveal their internal structure with the fine detail of the ribs and stiffeners that injection-molded plastic cannot capture. The model thus gains the more dynamic and realistic look typical of an aircraft parked on the ground.
The parts are broken out of the fret, cleaned up and bent precisely according to the drawing. They are bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate); for firm joints on larger areas a slower-curing cyanoacrylate or epoxy is suitable. Degrease the brass before painting and spray it with a base coat - the set comes unpainted.
This is an accessory set, not a model. The plastic kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
