An injection-molded plastic kit of the American Curtiss P-40E Warhawk fighter in 1:48 scale from the Czech manufacturer Eduard. It is a model from Eduard's new tooling. This manufacturer issues the P-40E in several editions (among them ProfiPACK with photo-etched parts and masks, and the more simply equipped Weekend) — the particular contents of the package, the number of decal options and the accessories differ from edition to edition. The exact edition is identified by the manufacturer's kit number.
The Curtiss P-40 Warhawk was one of the main American fighters of the early part of the Second World War. The P-40E version was powered by the liquid-cooled Allison V-1710 V12 engine and carried six .50 caliber wing machine guns. The Warhawks made their name on many fronts — from North Africa through the Pacific to China, where they were also used by the Flying Tigers with their characteristic shark mouth on the nose. The machine was rugged and durable, and particularly well suited to attacks at low altitude.
Cut the parts off the sprues and glue clean joints with liquid modeling cement for plastic. Paint the cockpit interior and pick it out before you close the fuselage. Apply a primer before painting and spray with an airbrush. After the gloss clear coat and the decals, pick out the panel lines with a wash; bold unit markings and shark mouths suit the Warhawks beautifully.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
