A resin detail set from Aires in 1:48 scale for improving the cockpit of a plastic kit of the Curtiss P-40E Warhawk fighter. It holds finely cast cockpit parts with relief of the instrument panel, the side consoles and the seat. It is not an airplane model but an accessory replacing the original cockpit from the kit.
The P-40E was an American single-seat fighter of the Second World War, powered by the Allison V-1710 V12 engine. It was marked by a rugged structure and by service on many fronts. The E version had strengthened wing armament and is often associated with colorful unit markings.
Wash the mold release agent off the parts and separate them from the casting blocks. Bond with super glue (cyanoacrylate), and sand with respiratory protection. Check the fit before closing the fuselage. The interior usually calls for the appropriate cockpit interior shade, a dry brush on the edges and a wash into the recesses.
