A detail resin set of the wing gun bays for a model of the American Republic P-47 Thunderbolt fighter in 1:48 scale from Aires. This is not an airplane kit but an accessory for improving a plastic kit of the matching type. The set makes it possible to show the wing machine gun bays open with faithfully cast weapons, the stowage of the ammunition belts and the internal structure of the wing.
The P-47 Thunderbolt was an American heavy fighter of the Second World War powered by the massive Pratt and Whitney R-2800 radial engine. It was marked by its rugged structure, its long range and its strong armament of eight 12.7 mm wing machine guns. It excelled above all in the strike role and when escorting bombers.
The set is intended for an open display, so count on cutting out the corresponding panels of the wing of the kit. Wash the mold release residue off the parts, separate them from the casting blocks and dry-fit them. Bond with super glue (cyanoacrylate) and protect your airways when sanding resin. The internal structure and the weapons come into their own once painted with an airbrush and picked out with a wash.
This is a resin accessory for a kit, not an airplane model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
