A color set of 3D-printed interior decals from Quinta Studio for models of the early version of the American P-51A Mustang fighter in 1:48 scale. It is neither a kit nor photo-etch: they are three-dimensional, pre-painted decals on a flexible film that you apply straight into the cockpit. The panels have a raised multi-level structure and dial faces covered with a gloss coat for a glass look. The decals are shaped for the parts of the Accurate Miniatures and Academy kits.
The P-51A was the early version of the legendary Mustang fighter, powered by an Allison engine. It stood out for its range and its low-level performance and was used above all as a fighter and reconnaissance aircraft before the later Merlin-engined versions entered service.
The parts are lifted off the sheet and applied much like decals with lukewarm water. The thicker film is best fixed with cyanoacrylate or another suitable glue; do not use ordinary decal setting solutions. The interior gains realistic depth without photo-etch and without painting the dials by hand.
The set holds interior decals only. The model itself, glue and paints are not included in the package.
