1:48 P-51D-5 Mustang national insignia

Eduard 1:48 P-51D-5 Mustang national insignia

This is not an aircraft model but a set of decals with American national markings (the star in a circle with bars) for the P-51D-5 Mustang fighter. The decals serve to give a finished model in 1:48 scale precisely shaped and color-matched national markings.

The real subject

The P-51D-5 was an early production version of the famous American North American P-51D Mustang fighter of the Second World War period, characterized by its bubble canopy. American national insignia appeared on the aircraft in several sizes and positions.

Use and application

• Cut the decal out, dip it in lukewarm water and let it release from the backing.
• Slide it onto a glossy, clean surface on the model and get rid of any air bubbles.
• For a perfect fit use a decal softener and a decal setter.
• Once dry, overspray with a clear varnish to even the surface out.

Who the set is for

For modelers of fighters in 1:48 scale who want to give a P-51D-5 Mustang model accurate American national markings, for example as a replacement for the decals from a kit.

The set contains decals only. The aircraft model, the paints and the varnish are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
