An accessory for building dioramas from the Czech manufacturer Plus Model in 1:48 scale. The set captures paving of small sandstone stones of the kind that covered the streets, squares and courtyards of European towns. The casting with its fine relief will serve as a credible base under military equipment, figures and civilian scenes.
Paving of small stones is among the most typical surfaces of old European towns. Sandstone was used for centuries for the ease with which it is worked; the stones were laid in fans or in courses and in time acquired a smoothed, irregular surface. It is precisely this texture that makes paving a rewarding element of dioramas; it comes out beautifully under a wash and pigments and sets a scene in a European environment of the first half of the 20th century as well as of the present at once.
Before painting, wash the resin casting with warm soapy water so that the remains of the mold release agent are removed. Apply the base shade with an airbrush or a brush in a muted sand or gray-beige color, then set the individual stones apart at random with lighter and darker tones. A brown-black wash run into the joints will bring the relief out, and dry pigments will add the dust and dirt. The edges of the casting can be sanded and blended smoothly into the terrain of the base.
The accessory is supplied unpainted. Glue, paints and other accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
