A set of pre-cut self-adhesive masks intended for a model of the American twin-engined patrol and bomber aircraft in 1:48 scale. It is not a kit but an aid for painting. The double-sided form means masks for the outer and for the inner surface of the glazing. The set is cut for the particular Academy kit.
Twin-engined machines have an incomparably larger area of glazing than fighters: a glazed nose, the pilot's cockpit, side windows and gunners' positions. That is at the same time the reason why this set covers considerably more parts than masks for a single-engined type, and why the double-sided form pays off most with it: on large surfaces the interior of the canopy really is visible, and unpainted frames seen from inside spoil the impression of an otherwise well-built model. The PV-1 Ventura was built on the basis of a civil transport aircraft and in naval service it was used for patrol flights; it was powered by a pair of radial engines.
Divide the work up by individual transparent parts and do not stick everything on at once. First stick the inner masks on and spray the interior shade, then seat the parts on the model and add the outer masks. Degrease the transparent parts beforehand and use tweezers for sticking them on.
