A Model Maker decal sheet for a model of the PZL P.11 fighter in 1:48 scale. These are decals, that is, an accessory for a finished model, not a kit or a set of detail parts. The name gives neither a particular version nor the scope of the sheet; check them against the illustration on the packaging.
The PZL P.11 was an all-metal single-seat high-wing fighter with its characteristic cranked wing, which let the designer give the pilot an unusually good view forward and upward. The covering of both the fuselage and the wing had a pronounced texture, so the surface of the aircraft never looked smooth. Most of the modeling questions around applying decals to this type follow from that.
On busy covering the film easily catches on the raised parts and stays taut between them like a bridge. The method is therefore more patient: a gloss varnish as the surface, the decal placed with plenty of water, the water blotted off and then a softener applied, repeatedly if need be, until the film settles into the texture. Do not touch the film while it is softening. Pierce any bubble that forms with the tip of a fresh scalpel and press it down through a damp cloth - the intervention is then invisible. Once dry, wash the model and overcoat it, so the edges of the film disappear under a uniform layer of varnish.
The set holds decals. The model, the paints and the varnishes are not part of the package, unless stated otherwise.
