A resin detail set in 1:48 scale from the manufacturer Black Dog. It holds resin parts for a faithful rendition of the powerplant and the engine deck of the PZL W-3 Sokol multirole helicopter. The set serves as an aftermarket accessory for a kit; the helicopter model itself is not included in the package.
The PZL W-3 Sokol is a Polish twin-engine multirole helicopter used in army, police and rescue roles. The W-3A version went through certification under Western regulations and serves with a number of operators. The exposed engine section with its turboshaft engines is among the striking details this set brings out.
First wash the mold release residue off the parts, carefully cut off the casting blocks and clean them up. Glue the resin with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Wear respiratory protection while sanding. Apply a filler primer before painting and bring out the shades of the metal and the engine with washes and drybrushing.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
