R-60 / AA-8 Aphid 1:48 (Eduard Brassin) is a set of resin R-60 guided air-to-air missiles for models of Soviet and Russian combat aircraft. These are external stores, not a model.
Responsibility details are not available.
This resin set from the Brassin range by the Czech manufacturer Eduard contains four R-60 guided air-to-air missiles (NATO reporting name AA-8 Aphid) in 1:48 scale, complemented by photo-etched parts. The package includes detailed missile bodies, launch rails and fins. It is not a model: it is an armament accessory.
The R-60 (Molniya, NATO reporting name AA-8 Aphid) is a Soviet infrared-guided short-range missile for close air combat. It was extremely widespread and was carried by a whole range of aircraft, for example MiG and Su fighters and attack aircraft as well as combat helicopters. On a model it completes the armament typical of the Cold War.
Wash the mold release agent off the resin parts, cut off the casting blocks and bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Wear respiratory protection while sanding. The small photo-etched elements are applied spot by spot.
This is an armament accessory, not a standalone airplane model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
