A resin detail part, not an aircraft kit. Finely cast resin ejection seats with cast safety belts that replace the simplified seats from the base kit of the American RA-5C Vigilante carrier aircraft in 1:48 scale. The set allows for the two-seat layout of the cockpit.

The real subject and what the part is for

The North American RA-5C Vigilante was an American supersonic carrier aircraft of the US Navy. It originally came about as a heavy carrier strike machine and was later converted into a capable tactical reconnaissance aircraft with a crew of a pilot and a navigator-operator. In an open cockpit the seats are among the most conspicuous features; castings with faithful belts save the work with photo-etched belts and markedly lift the impression of the interior.

Usage tips

• Wash the parts in lukewarm soapy water to remove mold release residue
• Cut the casting blocks off and clean the surfaces up with respiratory protection
• Glue them with super glue (cyanoacrylate); cement for plastic does not hold on resin
• Bring the belts out with a wash and a dry brush for a legible relief
