Decals for models of the machines of the Royal Air Force in 1:48 scale, produced in the Medium Sea Grey shade. That shade is among the basic colors of the wartime Royal Air Force and was used both on the surfaces of the airframe and on the markings of the machines, so it suits aircraft in the usual British camouflage schemes. The number in the name sets the sheets apart within the line; the sister sheets carry the designations Sky and WWII. The sheet does not relate to a single type of aircraft; it is an accessory with which you make up markings where a kit does not have them or where they do not suit you.
Before you soak the sheet, check in the instructions that it is not a self-adhesive form. A self-adhesive film that has been soaked is irretrievably ruined, whereas a waterslide decal can be soaked later as well. With an ordinary waterslide decal proceed as follows: cut the item out together with its backing, dip it in lukewarm water for a few seconds and let it rest until it can be shifted. Then bring it to the spot together with the paper, draw the paper out from under the decal and align the position with a brush.
Decals belong on a glossy surface; on a matte one air is trapped under them and a silvered border forms around the item. Blot the excess water away with a paper tissue and press it down with a soft cloth. Into a broken surface and over rivets a softener helps, as it draws the decal down into the engraving; let it dry and do not touch it. Finally, clear-coat the whole model, which hides the edges of the decals.
A decal sheet alone is what is supplied. The model, paints, softener and varnish are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
