A set of waterslide decals from the British maker Xtradecal in 1:48 scale. It holds Royal Air Force type C1 roundels in several sizes and the matching fin flashes for the vertical tail. The historical national marking is reproduced here plainly as a reference for modelers.
Type C1 is a variant of the later roundel with a yellow outer surround added, which raised the contrast of the marking against its background. Fin flashes went with the roundels on the vertical tail of British aircraft. Having both elements in one set makes it possible to fit a model out completely with period national markings.
Apply the elements over a smooth gloss clear coat so that no matte rim appears around them. Soak them, slide them into place, blot the water off and settle them with softener. On the fin flashes, watch the alignment with the leading edge of the fin. Once dry, go over them with varnish to the gloss level you want.
This is a stand-alone set of decals, not a kit. The model, the paints and the varnish are not included in the package.
