The Dassault Rafale C is the single-seat version of the multirole combat aircraft operated by the French Air Force. The machine with the code 30-GT received a commemorative finish in 2020 recalling the return of the Normandie-Niemen unit to France. Such a finish is as a rule carried by a single aircraft in a unit and it vanishes from it again once the season ends, so a model in this scheme is unmissable on a shelf and easy to pick out among gray series machines.
The decals are made for 1:48 scale and cover the scheme described above. The package is listed as a limited edition in a count of three hundred pieces. The exact layout of the sheet, the extent of the additional markings and the recommended shades of the base you will find in the enclosed instructions.
This is a flat printed sheet, that is a classic wet decal. Clear-coat the area under the decal with a gloss varnish first so that the base is not porous and no air is trapped under the film. Cut the decal out together with its margin, soak it in lukewarm water for a few seconds and let it rest until it begins to slide on the backing. Then slide it onto the moistened surface, fine-tune the position with a soft brush and draw the excess water off with a paper tissue. A softener pulls the film down into the panel lines; it is applied in a thin layer and the decal is not moved until it is dry. Finally clear-coat the model so that the edges of the film disappear.
For modelers of contemporary air forces who are looking for a striking scheme instead of an ordinary operational finish. This is a separate decal sheet; the model and the paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
