A resin wheel bay from Aires for the SAAB J-29 Tunnan in 1:48 scale. It is not a model, but a detail accessory for experienced modelers.
Responsibility details are not available.
A detailed resin accessory for refining the wheel bay of the Swedish jet fighter SAAB J-29 Tunnan in 1:48 scale. It is not an aircraft kit, but an aftermarket set. The casting offers a faithful structure of the walls and the ribbing of the bay, which the injection-molded plastic of a base kit usually cannot capture.
The SAAB J-29 Tunnan was a Swedish fighter with a swept wing, nicknamed the flying barrel thanks to its stocky fuselage. It first flew in 1948 and was among the first Western European jet fighters with a swept wing. It served with the Swedish Air Force, it was also deployed in the Congo under the United Nations flag and it flew in Austria as well.
First wash the parts to remove any release agent. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw or a cutter, do not break them. Before gluing they usually call for some adjustment of the surrounding plastic – test the fit dry. Glue with cyanoacrylate. When sanding, protect your airways and do not breathe in the resin dust. Apply a primer before painting.
The accessory does not contain the model itself, nor glue or paints. It is supplied as a resin casting for completing an existing kit.
