An injection-molded plastic kit of the German two-seat aircraft Halberstadt CL.II in the configuration of the Schusta/Schlasta 27b units, in 1:48 scale from the Polish manufacturer Mirage Hobby. The set contains injection-molded plastic parts, a clear part, supplementary photo-etched items and a decal sheet for period markings.
The Halberstadt CL.II was a two-seat ground-attack and escort aircraft of the German air service at the end of the First World War. It was powered by an inline six-cylinder Mercedes D.III engine and it became famous as an agile machine for attacking ground targets from low altitude, where it worked together with observation and fighter units. The crew consisted of the pilot and a rear gunner.
This is a classic biplane kit, where careful bracing and tensioning of the wires between the wings is the key. Use thin cement for plastic and glue the small photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue. Apply primer before airbrushing; for the doped fabric covering and the typical lozenge camouflage, patient work with decals or masks pays off.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
