A resin cockpit set from Aires in 1:48 scale, made to raise the detail of the plastic kit of the Sepecat Jaguar attack aircraft in the GR.1 version. It is not an aircraft model but an accessory. The set usually replaces the plastic cockpit tub with a more accurate casting carrying instrument panels, side consoles, a seat and further detail.
The Sepecat Jaguar was a British and French single-seat attack and strike aircraft. The GR.1 version served with the Royal Air Force for attacks on ground targets and for reconnaissance. It was powered by a pair of turbojets and the aircraft was marked by a slender fuselage with a high-mounted wing.
Wash the resin parts to remove the mold release agent and cut off the casting blocks with a sharp saw. Bond with super glue (cyanoacrylate) and protect your airways while sanding. Paint the cockpit with an airbrush and bring the details out with a wash and a dry brush; they show once it is seated under the glazing.
This is an accessory for a kit. The aircraft model itself, glue and paints are not included in the package.
