1:48 Sopwith Camel with the Clerget engine is a bundle of Eduard resin accessory sets from the Big Sin line for a kit of the British Sopwith Camel fighter with the Clerget rotary engine in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is not a kit of the aircraft but a package of accessories for one. Big Sin is the designation used by the Czech manufacturer Eduard for a bundle of resin sets brought together into one package and one price. This item is aimed at the Sopwith Camel in the variant with the Clerget rotary engine, because the engine fit is a distinguishing detail on the Camel: the same airframe was also built with other rotary engines and the kit boxings differ accordingly.
The Sopwith F.1 Camel was a British single-seat fighter of the First World War. Its characteristic silhouette came from the fairing over the pair of synchronized Vickers machine guns in front of the pilot and from the concentration of the masses of the engine, the armament, the fuel and the pilot into a short forward fuselage. That is exactly what made the Camel an agile machine, though a demanding one in a turn. The Clerget rotary engine was among its common powerplants.
Wash the resin in lukewarm soapy water before painting, or the paint will not hold on the parts. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw rather than pliers, and sand wet and with protection for your airways. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). With a rotary engine it pays off to paint and assemble it separately before you fit it into the fuselage, because once it is cowled you will not reach the cylinders. Always dry-fit the mating surfaces and take material away on the side of the set.
This is an accessory set, not a kit. The base model, paints and glue are not included in the package.
