A more comprehensive detail set for the late Supermarine Spitfire F Mk.22 fighter in 1:48 scale from Aires. The resin accessory raises the fidelity of a kit with faithfully detailed parts, typically the cockpit interior and further highlighted areas and elements that replace the simplified plastic parts.
The Spitfire F Mk.22 was among the late, postwar versions of the legendary British fighter. It was powered by the powerful Rolls-Royce Griffon V12 engine and differed from the early Spitfires in its stronger powerplant, the reworked structure of the fuselage and the tail surfaces and the bubble canopy.
First wash the resin parts free of mold release residue, cut off the casting blocks carefully and bond with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Use respiratory protection while sanding. The details come into their own once painted and picked out gently with a wash.
This is a resin accessory for a kit, not an airplane model. The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted; the base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
