Spitfire F. Mk.22/24 1:48 is a die-cut masking set from Eduard for models of the late versions of the British Supermarine Spitfire Mk.22 and Mk.24 fighter.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a set of self-adhesive masking templates for a model of the Supermarine Spitfire in the F. Mk.22 and Mk.24 versions in 1:48 scale. It is not a model or a kit but an accessory that simplifies spraying the frames of the canopy and the other transparencies cleanly. The masks are machine-cut from Japanese kabuki masking tape, follow the shape of the parts precisely and leave no sticky residue once removed. The set usually also contains masks for the wheels.
The Spitfire F. Mk.22 and Mk.24 were the last production versions of the famous British fighter, with a Rolls-Royce Griffon engine, a bubble canopy and enlarged tail surfaces. They entered service at the end of the Second World War and in the first postwar years. A bubble canopy is sprayed more cleanly with pre-shaped masks.
Degrease the glazing, peel the masks off with tweezers and lay them precisely in place. Apply the paint with an airbrush in thin coats so that it does not run under the edges. Remove the masks shortly after the paint has dried. You will use the wheel templates when spraying the tires and the hubs separately.
The accessory does not include a model or paints. It serves only for masking while spraying.
