Spitfire LF IXe exhaust is a resin set of engine exhaust stubs in 1:48 scale from the maker Quickboost. It is a detail accessory for a model, supplied unassembled and unpainted.
Responsibility details are not available.
This resin set holds a set of engine exhaust stubs for the Supermarine Spitfire subject in the LF IXe version. It is not a model of the airplane but a detail accessory. The castings have hollow mouths and fine modeling, so they look more faithful than the solid plastic parts from the kit.
The Spitfire Mk.IX was a British fighter powered by a Rolls-Royce Merlin engine. The designation LF, for low-altitude fighter, points to the variant tuned for low heights, and the letter e in the marking matches the later arrangement of the armament in the wing. The exhaust stubs were among the characteristic items of the forward part of the fuselage.
Wash the parts free of mold release residue first, cut off the casting blocks and clean them up. Glue the stubs with super glue (cyanoacrylate). In color they come into their own in dark metallic shades with a hint of burnt steel and heat staining toward the mouths.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
