A resin detail set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard in the Brassin range. It is not an airplane kit but an accessory for finishing a larger kit: a one-piece top engine cowl of the early version for the British Spitfire Mk.IX fighter in 1:48 scale. The package holds a resin part and a sheet of decals. Always check compatibility with your base model.
The top engine cowling differs in shape and bulges between the individual versions of the Spitfire. The one-piece resin casting of the early version replaces the split plastic parts from the box with no need to fill seams and with more sharply defined transitions. The set is intended for Spitfire Mk.IX models in the early form.
Wash the mold release residue off the part, cut the casting block off with a saw and clean up the surface for a perfect fit on the fuselage. It is bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Check the fit dry before painting. Protect your airways when sanding resin.
This is a detail accessory, not a model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
