A resin cockpit for the Supermarine Spitfire Mk. IXc in 1:48 scale from the Aires company. It is not an aircraft model but a detail accessory that replaces the cockpit of a kit with faithfully cast parts. The set as a rule contains a cockpit tub, an instrument panel, a seat, a control stick and side consoles with rich detail of the tubular structure typical of Spitfires.
The Spitfire Mk. IX was a single-engine fighter, one of the most successful and widespread versions of the Spitfire, powered by the Rolls-Royce Merlin engine. The designation c refers to the so-called universal wing. The open cockpit with its side door reveals the interior, so a detailed cockpit is clearly visible on a finished model.
Wash the parts to remove mold release residue, cut off the casting blocks and sand with respiratory protection. Bond with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Dry-fit the cockpit tub and adjust it before the fuselage is closed. The Spitfire interior is usually in the interior green shade; bring out the details and the instrument panel with a fine wash and a dry brush.
This is a resin accessory for a kit, not a complete model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
