Quickboost 1:48 Spitfire Mk. XIV engine cowling and exhaust is a resin detail set. It is not a model of the aircraft but an accessory for the kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
This resin detail set holds the engine cowling and the exhausts of the Supermarine Spitfire Mk. XIV fighter in 1:48 scale. It is an accessory for the kit that sharpens up the shape of the upper engine cowling and replaces the simplified plastic exhausts with parts with hollow mouths. It is not a stand-alone model of the aircraft.
The Spitfire Mk. XIV is a British single-engine fighter of the later part of the Second World War, powered by the strong Rolls-Royce Griffon V12. The move from the Merlin to the more potent Griffon called for changes to the forward part of the fuselage, so the cowling and the arrangement of the exhausts on this version differ from the earlier Spitfire patterns.
Wash the parts free of mold release residue, cut off the casting blocks and sand the surfaces with respiratory protection. Glue with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Check the fit of the cowling against the particular kit before gluing; the exhausts come into their own once they are painted in metallic shades.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted, as a resin accessory for the kit. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package.
